ואתא רחבעם לירושלם וכנש ית בית יהודה ובנימין מאה ותמנן אלפין גבר גבר אנשי עבדי קרבא למסדרא סדרי קרבא עם בית ישראל לאתבא ית מלכותא לרחבעם:
lrkhbem mlkwtha yth lathba yshral byth em qrba sdry lmsdra qrba ebdy anshy gbr gbr alpyn wthmnn mah wbnymyn yhwdh byth yth wknsh lyrwshlm rkhbem watha
When Rehoboam had come to Jerusalem, he assembled the house of Judah and Benjamin, one hundred eighty thousand chosen men who were warriors, to fight against Israel, to bring the kingdom again to Rehoboam.

והוה פתגם נבואה מן קדם יי עם שמעיהו נביא דיי למימר:
lmymr dyy nbya shmeyhw em yy qdm mn nbwah pthgm whwh
But Yahweh’s word came to Shemaiah the man of God, saying,

אמר לרחבעם בר שלמה מליך שבטא דבית יהודה ועם כל בית ישראל דביהודה ובנימין למימר:
lmymr wbnymyn dbyhwdh yshral byth kl wem yhwdh dbyth shbTa mlyk shlmh br lrkhbem amr
“Speak to Rehoboam the son of Solomon, king of Judah, and to all Israel in Judah and Benjamin, saying,

כדנן אמר יי לא תסקון ולא תגיחון קרבא עם אחוכון בני ישראל תובו גבר לביתיה ארום מן קדם יי הוה פתגמא הדין וקבילו ית פתגמי יי ותבו מלמיזל לות ירבעם:
yrbem lwth mlmyzl wthbw yy pthgmy yth wqbylw hdyn pthgma hwh yy qdm mn arwm lbythyh gbr thwbw yshral bny akhwkwn em qrba thgykhwn wla thsqwn la yy amr kdnn
‘Yahweh says, “You shall not go up, nor fight against your brothers! Every man return to his house; for this thing is of me.”’” So they listened to Yahweh’s words, and returned from going against Jeroboam.

ויתב רחבעם בירושלם ובנא קרוין כריכן בארעא שבטא דבית יהודה:
yhwdh dbyth shbTa barea krykn qrwyn wbna byrwshlm rkhbem wythb
Rehoboam lived in Jerusalem, and built cities for defense in Judah.

ובנא ית בית לחם וית עיטם וית תקוע:
thqwe wyth eyTm wyth lkhm byth yth wbna
He built Bethlehem, Etam, Tekoa,

וית צרעה וית אילון וית חברון דבשבטא יהודה ובשבטא דבנימין קרוין כריכן:
krykn qrwyn dbnymyn wbshbTa yhwdh dbshbTa khbrwn wyth aylwn wyth tsreh wyth
Zorah, Aijalon, and Hebron, which are fortified cities in Judah and in Benjamin.

ושפיץ ותקיף ית קרוין כרכתא ומני בהון ארכונין ותסברין מלין מכלא ומשחא וחמרא:
wkhmra wmshkha mkla mlyn wthsbryn arkwnyn bhwn wmny krktha qrwyn yth wthqyp wshpyts
He fortified the strongholds and put captains in them with stores of food, oil and wine.

ובכל קריה וקריה יהב עגילין ומורנין ותקיפנון לסוגי לחדא והוון ליה שבטא דיהודה ובנימין:
wbnymyn dyhwdh shbTa lyh whwwn lkhda lswgy wthqypnwn wmwrnyn egylyn yhb wqryh qryh wbkl
He put shields and spears in every city, and made them exceedingly strong. Judah and Benjamin belonged to him.

וכהניא וליואי דבכל ישראל אתעתדו עלוהי מכל תחומיהון:
thkhwmyhwn mkl elwhy athethdw yshral dbkl wlyway wkhnya
The priests and the Levites who were in all Israel stood with him out of all their territory.

ארום שבקו ליואי ית פרוילהון ואחודתהון ואזלו לשבטא דיהודה ולירושלם ארום עכבנון ולא שבקנון ירבעם ובנוי מלשמש קדם יי:
yy qdm mlshmsh wbnwy yrbem shbqnwn wla ekbnwn arwm wlyrwshlm dyhwdh lshbTa wazlw wakhwdthhwn prwylhwn yth lyway shbqw arwm
For the Levites left their pasture lands and their possessions, and came to Judah and Jerusalem; for Jeroboam and his sons cast them off, that they should not execute the priest’s office to Yahweh.

ואקים ליה כומרין לבמתיא ולשדין ולעגלין די עבד:
ebd dy wleglyn wlshdyn lbmthya kwmryn lyh waqym
He himself appointed priests for the high places, for the male goat and calf idols which he had made.

ובתריהון מכל שבטיא דישראל דיהבין ית לבהון למתבע אולפן מן קדם יי אלהא דישראל אתו לירושלם לדבחא קדם יי אלהא דאבהתהון:
dabhthhwn alha yy qdm ldbkha lyrwshlm athw dyshral alha yy qdm mn awlpn lmthbe lbhwn yth dyhbyn dyshral shbTya mkl wbthryhwn
After them, out of all the tribes of Israel, those who set their hearts to seek Yahweh, the God of Israel, came to Jerusalem to sacrifice to Yahweh, the God of their fathers.

ותקיפו ית מלכותא דבית יהודה ואלימו ית רחבעם בר שלמה לשנין תלת ארום הליכו באורח דוד ושלמה לשנין תלת:
thlth lshnyn wshlmh dwd bawrkh hlykw arwm thlth lshnyn shlmh br rkhbem yth walymw yhwdh dbyth mlkwtha yth wthqypw
So they strengthened the kingdom of Judah and made Rehoboam the son of Solomon strong for three years, for they walked three years in the way of David and Solomon.

ונסיב ליה רחבעם אתתא ית מחלת בר ירימות בר דוד וית אביחיל בת אליאב בר ישי:
yshy br alyab bth abykhyl wyth dwd br yrymwth br mkhlth yth aththa rkhbem lyh wnsyb
Rehoboam took a wife for himself, Mahalath the daughter of Jerimoth the son of David and of Abihail the daughter of Eliab the son of Jesse.

וילידת ליה בנין ית יעוש וית שמריה וית זהם :
zhm wyth shmryh wyth yewsh yth bnyn lyh wylydth
She bore him sons: Jeush, Shemariah, and Zaham.

ובתרהא נסיב ית מעכה בת אבשלום וילידת ליה ית אביה וית עתי וית זיזא וית שלמית:
shlmyth wyth zyza wyth ethy wyth abyh yth lyh wylydth abshlwm bth mekh yth nsyb wbthrha
After her, he took Maacah the granddaughter of Absalom; and she bore him Abijah, Attai, Ziza, and Shelomith.

ורחים רחבעם ית מעכה בת אבשלום מן כל נשוהי ופילקתוהי ארום נשין תמניסרי נסיב פילקתין שתין ואוליד עשרין ותמניא בנין ושתין בנן:
bnn wshthyn bnyn wthmnya eshryn wawlyd shthyn pylqthyn nsyb thmnysry nshyn arwm wpylqthwhy nshwhy kl mn abshlwm bth mekh yth rkhbem wrkhym
Rehoboam loved Maacah the granddaughter of Absalom above all his wives and his concubines; for he took eighteen wives and sixty concubines, and became the father of twenty-eight sons and sixty daughters.

ומני לרישא ית אביה בר מעכה לארכון על אחוהי ארום אמר למתן ליה מלכותא:
mlkwtha lyh lmthn amr arwm akhwhy el larkwn mekh br abyh yth lrysha wmny
Rehoboam appointed Abijah the son of Maacah to be chief, the prince among his brothers, for he intended to make him king.

ובנא ושפיץ קרוין ומני מכל בנוי על כל ארעתא דבית יהודה לכלהון קרויא כריכתא ויהב להון מזונא לסוגי ושאיל למסב רכפת נשיא:
nshya rkpth lmsb wshayl lswgy mzwna lhwn wyhb kryktha qrwya lklhwn yhwdh dbyth aretha kl el bnwy mkl wmny qrwyn wshpyts wbna
He dealt wisely, and dispersed some of his sons throughout all the lands of Judah and Benjamin, to every fortified city. He gave them food in abundance; and he sought many wives for them.
